How to Plant Under an Evergreen Tree.

Here are a few tips on how to plant under an evergreen tree...

First, remove the needles from under the tree where you are planting. If the tree is 30 plus years old it will probably have accumulated about 2" to 5" of needles over the years!

Then, once you have all the needles cleaned out, use a madock tool which has an axe on one and a heavy hoe on the other end to make trenches about 3' to 4' long  4" deep. This is also a great time to remove any or all weeds or vines that may be there. Remember that the closer plants are planted to each other, the faster the area will fill in.
